O’REILLY’S TREE TOP WALK
LOCATION: CANUNGRA | BEECHMONT AND LAMINGTON NATIONAL PARK TYPE: NATIONAL PARKS AND RESERVES, NATURAL ATTRACTIONS

An iconic part of O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat and located just out side the guest house. The Tree Top Walk consists of 9 suspension bridges up to 16 metres above ground. Enjoy a bird’s eye view from a deck 30 metres above ground in a fig tree over the walkway. Open for the public and in house guests all day, every day. The best time to see birdlife is early morning or late afternoon. The Tree Top Walk is free to experience at your own leisure.

O’Reilly’s are celebrating thirty years since the completion of the world’s first Tree Top Walk.

Discover O’Reilly’s Tree Top Walk nestled high within World Heritage-listed National Park. Suitable for guests of all ages, this world’s first suspension bridge provides the opportunity to observe life in the rainforest canopy at close range.

Stroll along nine suspension bridges for 180 metres at approximately 15 metres above the rainforest floor. Spot epiphytic orchids and ferns surrounded by the many birds and animals that inhabit the treetops. Profiles depicting the local rainforest flora have been placed along the walkway to assist with identification.

Walk through the cool canopy of flowering and fruiting trees covered by vines and climb to the two observation decks constructed high in a Strangler Fig – the highest one being 30 metres (approximately 110 feet) above the ground.

Read more about the Tree Top Walk construction, now in it’s 31st year, from eco-pioneer Big Pete O’Reilly at their website.
